Mono And Screw Threads

Mono and screw threads are a non-surgical collagen stimulating & tissue remodeling therapy where multiple tiny threads, made of a dissolvable material, are placed superficially into the area of the skin that requires improvement.

A minor controlled tissue disturbance in the underlying structures of the skin results in the body activating collagen & fibroblast production, which create multiple benefits to the skin which include;

• Skin tightening ( including under eyes)
• Adding volume
• Skin texture
• Smooths out fine lines
• Dissolves small fat pockets
• Improves depressed scar tissue

To take treatment results to the next level we often combine Mono and Screw threads alongside other treatments such as Dermal Fillers, Anti-Wrinkle injections and Skin Boosters.

In order to achieve optimum results, 3 sessions are the standard recommendation for this treatment, spaced 2 weeks apart.

The areas which can be treated with the mono and screw threads are;

• Forehead
• Frown Lines
• Crow’s Feet/Eyes
• Cheeks
• Naso Folds
• Smokes Lines
• Marionettes
• Jawline/Jowls
• Neck/Necklace Lines
• Buttocks/Breasts
• Stomach

Why choose Mono and Screw over COG?
Mono and screw threads work similarly to COG’s & PDO threads in that they all stimulate fibroblasts, however Mono & Screw threads are less invasive & work better as a preventative measure, meaning downtime is minimal and results are more natural as the threads create healthy, plump looking tissues rather than the physical lift you achieve through a COG or PDO.

These threads work through a mechanical method of physically hooking on to & lifting underlying sagging tissues, therefore downtime can be longer but results more dramatic. Smaller areas can be focused on when using mono and screw threads, for example scar tissue and sagging under eye tissue.

    FAQ

    Are all PDO threads the same?

    No, however all threads are made from the same material, but they have different properties which contribute to the results wanting to be achieved. For example, COG threads have small barbs along the full length of them, which create a mechanical lift through the tissues. Mono threads are completely straight and smooth, they mainly tighten the skin. Screw threads are two or more threads entwined around each-other, ideal for creating volume.

    How long does a PDO thread lift procedure take?

    Anywhere between 15mins-45mins.

    Does a PDO thread lift hurt?

    The procedure itself is minimally invasive, the area is numbed with lidocaine injections prior to the treatment. The treatment is comfortable to have done.

    What side effects can I expect after a PDO thread lift?

    Swelling and bruising is very common with this treatment. The area will be tender and tight. It takes 4-6 weeks to full settle.

    How long does it take to see results and how long do they last?

    Results will be seen straight away; however, it takes up to 3 months to see maximum results as the threads induce the collagen production which happens gradually over time. It takes approximately 6 months for the threads to fully absorb through hydrolysis, results can last up to 2 years.
